Federal government replaces landline telephony – Ironforge supports 120 migration projects
In the "Unified Communication & Collaboration (UCC)" program in the Federal Administration, modern communication options such as video conferencing and chat functions were created on over 43,000 workstations with our support.
What is it about?
The Federal Council decided to replace the landline telephone systems in the Federal Administration with the "Unified Communication & Collaboration UCC" program. With the introduction of UCC, a modern, future-oriented communication solution was introduced. Around 120 migration projects were carried out as part of the program between 2014 and 2017. This included switching all of the federal government's landline telephony to the internal IP network and the associated change of all landline numbers. The solution used was the Microsoft product "Skype for Business", which was fully integrated into the federal administration's existing infrastructure.
Ironforge Consulting AG supported the Federal Administration during the 'Unified Communication & Collaboration UCC' program in the function of PMO and with project management and sub-project management in the implementation projects of the departments and administrative units. With the introduction of UCC, around 43,000 users will benefit from new functionalities. We were able to successfully complete the UCC program at the end of 2017 and would like to thank the Ironforge employees for their always very pleasant, professional and collegial collaboration.
